1947 Gibson L-5

Now with a German afficionado; The sunbust, non-cut L5 is the quintessential jazz guitar, 17'' lower bout, carved spruce top with parallel bracing, flamed maple back sides and neck, 20 fret ebony fingerboard, flowerpot inlay, Kluson Sealfast tuners, and the adjustable Varitone Tailpiece (for which as of yet I have felt no desire to adjust). Opposed to the later electrics, it has a superbly hefty neck with a 1-3/4'' wide nut, over a 25-1/2'' scale. Everything on this guitar, especially its distinctive sound, has set the benchmark for other archtops designed from its original blueprint.
